Optometrists perform 85 percent of all comprehensive eye exams in the United States and it is imperative that they stay up-to-date on new and different information approaches products and technology. This can be a challenge considering expanding scope of practice rapid increases in age-related disease and massive leaps in technology. All of these dynamics are changing the face of the optometric profession revealing an immense and immediate need for comprehensive education programs like this one. Patients routinely present with dry eye diabetes cataract glaucoma and AMDand all of these conditions are on the rise. These patients are presenting to their optometrists in greater numbers requiring diagnosis and ongoing care. This educational activity seeks to better prepare them.
