Description:
Over the past 25 years, eye care has undergone remarkable transformation driven by innovations in surgical techniques, intraocular lens technology, diagnostic imaging, and refractive procedures. These advances have shifted cataract surgery from a vision-restoring procedure to a refractive procedure focused on optimizing visual performance and patient lifestyle goals. This course reflects on key clinical lessons learned from more than two decades of surgical and collaborative care experience. Dr. Chu will review the evolution of cataract surgery, presbyopia management, and refractive surgery while highlighting the growing role of optometrists in perioperative care. Practical case examples will illustrate important clinical decision-making principles, patient selection strategies, and methods for managing patient expectations.
