Description:
Discusses how vision conservation is grounded in law, regulation and policy. Detail is provided on the hierarchy of Laws, Code of Federal Regulations, Executive Orders, Departmentment of Defense Instructions, Service Regulations/Instructions and Local Regulations/Instruction. The OSHA and Independent standards related to vision conservation are discussed and guidance is provided on the use of regulations and publications included on the course CD, found at local installation and on the World Wide Web. Induction/Selection, Retention and Waiver of Vision Standards in the three services and the source of these standards are discussed. Lastly, regulations concerning jobs or programs having special vision requirements are detailed.
