- Many lens related corneal conditions mimic non-lens related pathology. The clinician needs to be careful in making the accurate diagnosis and manage appropriately. Several key topic areas will be addressed including 1 the dry eye conundrum lens related v. pathologic dryness, 2 corneal fascinations like dendriform lesions should not be confused with herpes simplex or varicella zoster, and 3 when corneal infiltrates present the approbate differential is to identify what might be infectious v. sterile and to rule out non-bacterial infections for the right management.
