- Excessive tearing epiphora is a common patient complaint to optometrists and can occur at any age. During epiphora, there is overproduction of tears andor reduced drainage of tears. This course will give the optometrist a strategy for evaluating patients with complaints of epiphora in order to correctly identify the underlying cause and discuss common diseases that result in epiphora and their treatments.
