- Course description The course begins by describing why all health care organizations are required to have health care compliance programs by discussing Sections 6102 and 6401 of the Affordable Care Act. Links to American Health Lawyers Association and DHHS OIG guidelines for health care compliance programs are described and discussed. The seven elements of an effective health care compliance program are reviewed Standards, Policies and Procedures, Oversight, Education and Training, Auditing and Monitoring, Reporting, Enforcement and Discipline, and Response and Prevention The courses closes with important lessons learned in the operation of a health care compliance program.
