Description:
This course is designed to demonstrate the relevance of utilizing a collaborative interdisciplinary team approach to vision rehabilitation services throughout a system of healthcare. The course will address evidence supported practices specific to the domain of vision rehabilitation throughout a continuum of care inclusive of acute care hospital, subacute inpatient rehabilitation hospital, skilled nursing, outpatient, and homecare divisions. It will speak to strengthened functional and rehabilitation outcomes through the use of combining low vision and neuro optometry and low vision occupational therapy services with the traditional rehabilitation model inclusive of physiatry, neuro-psychology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language pathology.
