- In this lecture, examples of eye injury cases are reviewed. These are among severe cases that either must directly come to the emergency departments or trauma centers that are equipped to deal with ocular trauma. Some of these cases may be first present to the optometrist office either directly by the patient or though their employers. This lecture will discuss appropriate triage, examination and management of ocular and facial trauma. Issues of optometric comanagement and communication with surgical team will be discussed as well
