- Identification of biological markers are becoming an increasingly important and tangible reality in eyecare. Biomarkers in eyecare range from ocular biomarkers for ocular conditions to ocular biomarkers for systemic, vascular and aging-related neurodegenerative conditions. This rapid-fire panel will specifically highlight the relevant retinal biomarkers that can currently be identified on OCT and OCT-A and also discuss how the advances in science may unlock their potential noninvasive use in the detection of non-ocular conditions in the future.
