Description:
Landmark studies such as the Diabetic Retinopathy Study, Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study, and the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial paved the way for providing quality, evidence-based data for both the treatment of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and the reduced risk with tight blood sugar control. Updated technology for DR assessment and newer treatments necessitated further insight and guidance for both patients and practitioners. Since 2002, the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research (DRCR) Retina Network continues to publish well-designed studies to assess current DR therapies. This course will summarize the pertinent DRCR Retina Network reports related to the management of DR.
