- Optometrists are in a unique position to intervene in human trafficking but often are unaware that their patient is a victim. This course provides an important summary on how to identify and understand the warning signs and indicators of human trafficking. The Poiema Foundation training course, “Human Trafficking Training for Medical Professionals”, is approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in accordance with House Bill 2059 (2019) for health care practitioner licensure renewal requirements.
